46 years ago today, the troubled off-shore station Radio North Sea International – which had been banned, jammed, hijacked and bribed to go off air – had a new problem: someone threw a homemade grenade on to the rear of the ship; it detonated, causing a fire in the stern that took an hour to bring under control.
