Right, bear with me on this one.
Let us first get to know an instrument called the Northumberland pipes. It’s sort of like bagpipes, except not.
Now we need to get familiar with the pattern on the flag of Northumberland:
Then note the flag of County Durham – specifically, the colours and the ‘lozenge’ shapes:
Now put it all together:
We’ve cracked the code, haven’t we?
