MediaGuardian: Sky lifts lid on multichannel TV habits
So Sky is hoping to get 20,000 subscribers to see how they use their service so that they can target their users better (and probably help get more cash out of their pockets whilst they’re at it)
Interesting, not least as one of the most common myths around there is that Sky are using the phone line connected to the set top box to secretly track what you’re doing! (in case you’re worried – they don’t. And this new scheme won’t be compulsory!)
It’s an interesting idea because we have so little idea how people are watching TV in the digital age. Maybe it will also help answer that age old question – just how many people bother watching the adverts?
