Television
and Radio 1985 marked the end of an era – two eras in fact. It
was the final book under the editorship of Eric Croston, who
created the series in 1963. When Television and Radio 1986
appeared it would look like a glossy brochure rather than a
handbook. And 1985 was also the year when the VHF 405-line
transmitter network was finally switched off.
