The biggest
months of the year are those that fall in winter. People are not on
holiday, the weather is to bad for outdoor pursuits. So the audience is a
captive one, in front of the television with nothing better to do.
So the
TVTimes, for reasons now forgotten, chooses to plug Mike Scott, a local Granada
producer/presenter and his local movie review show 'Cinema'.
Without
wishing to impugn a very good local programme, the issue itself shows such
action-packed material as ABC's 'Intrigue' and ATV's 'Drama '67' as well as 'The
Power Game', again from ATV, and 'The Rat Catchers' from Rediffusion. The
TVTimes gives these programmes - masters of their genre - a large write
up. 'Cinema', having warranted the cover, gets no write up in the listings
at all.
