The local
listings magazine for the Westward area, Look Westward. Another Dickens
Press magazine like TTT's The Viewer, the content
and layout are almost identical.
This
produces and interesting 'parallel universe' scenario. If Lord Hill had
not chosen to centralise TV listings when he regionalised the ITV system, a very
good way of changing the listings magazines might have been to have instituted
something like what Dickens already had done.
Each
magazine would have identical layout, identical features and even identical
stories. But, each magazine could have retained its own name. So The
Viewer and Look Westward would survive. As would Ulster's TV Post and
HTV's TVWeekly. In regions that had the TVTimes originally, new magazines
could appear - Midland Montage for ATV? From The North for Granada?
Chevron for YTV? Well, perhaps not, but I'm sure you get the idea.
