'Sunspots' campaign would still be considered innovative today. The idea of
advertising summer holidays in the depths of winter is not a new idea, and
wasn't new at the time. However, ATV took the idea a stage further.
In
a mastery of 'complete package' advertising, they offered travel agents, holiday
companies and charter airlines the opportunity to sell their wares in discreet
sections, with bright, specially-designed break bumpers, and cross-reference
them with a colour section & coupon in the TV Times.
