Key staff axed in BBC newsroom cuts
If you were in charge of cutting back operations in BBC News, would you remove the positions of two of the most experienced journalists in the key fields of race relations and crime unless you were really desperate to save money? And what will happen to the BBC's journalistic integrity and the ability to correctly interpret 'breaking news' as a result?
As demonstrated in the complete closure of the BBC's Cult website, what started out as just trimming around the edges has turned into a savage hacking of branches in what appears to be a desperate attempt to prove to government ministers that the BBC really is value for money. Whilst preserving management bonuses, of course.
Words fail me.
