Hi ho, hi ho, it's oop north we go...
The happy, jolly, positive side from the BBC
The truth from the Guardian
Well, we all knew it was going to happen, and today it was announced that a chunk of the BBC will be decamping to Manchester over the next ten years.
Childrens, Sport and Five Live are the broadcast services to move, with R&D and Formal Learning to follow.
Aside from the job issues, this is undoubtedly a good move, will hopefully make the BBC more inclusive of the rest of the country, and get some broadcasting back in the regions, which thanks to ITV has almost disappeared.
But then I live in Manchester, so I'm biased.
