Sing-a-longa Transdiffusion

About a year ago, a free music streaming service called Spotify was launched in the UK (it's available elsewhere too). At the start, it didn't have all that much music on it, but the catalogue has since grown and there's now a fair bit on it covering most musical tastes.

Kif Bowden-Smith started to put together a playlist of good TV-related music available on Spotify. Once the list was almost ready, Spotify suddenly stopped being free. Now you have to either get one of their invites (like hen's teeth) or pay a tenner a month. Needless to say, this makes TBS reluctant to promote the service... although it is very good. And the TBS playlist is also very good.

So, if you already have Spotify, either free or Premium, or you have £9.99 that you'd only otherwise waste on heating and food, have a listen to our playlist. While you're there, James Higham (@Jamesypoo) recommended via @transdiffusion that you also lend an ear to the KPM All Stars playing a selection of jazzy themes live.

If you've not got £9.99 burning a hole in your pocket, @ElrikMerlin recommends Radio Riel, an eclectic internet radio station that often features quality music by composers of classic broadcasting music.

We'd be grateful to hear of other (free, but legal, if possible) internet radio stations, playlists and streams you've stumbled across - including hidden Spotify gems. The comments section is ready to take your calls.
