BBC News: Bagpuss and Ivor creator dies
Like many I grew up with the creations of Oliver Postgate, and his usal collaborator Peter Firmin. Ivor the Engine, Noggin the Nog, the Clangers, and of course, the utterly wonderful Bagpuss, played a huge part of my childhood, as it did so many others - enchanting and enthralling a whole generation.
It's impossible now to listen to that iconic theme tune of Bagpuss, and Postgate's calm and authoritative narration and not be transported into another world. It's one hell of a legacy to leave behind - and a legacy that will continue enthralling children for years to come
