Media Guardian: FilmFour relaunches as free-to-air
Some good news for film and Freeview fans as Channel 4 officially announce that FilmFour is to go free. However its stable-mate, FilmFour Weekly will close.
FilmFour was Channel 4's last bastion of pay-TV, which was increasingly out of odds with the station policy pursued by C4 boss Andy Duncan.
It is also likely to signal the death of one of C4's filler channels on the Freeview service - one of E4+1, More4+1 or QuizCall will need to do in order to make room, and a second will no doubt go if Channel 4's much rumoured C4US channel launches later in the year.
