HBO UK

Media Guardian: HBO could move into UK

In the UK it's another name for quality - programming of a high quality that people will pay for. The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Larry Sanders Show.

There's been talk on this side of the Atlantic of a HBO-style station for the UK for many years, but nothing ever came of them. Sky had a few goes, but they were almost always half-hearted and quickly canned.

So maybe the solution is for HBO to just do it themselves - turn up and tell UK TV how to do premium subscription content.

And if it does turn up on these shores, will it actually commission programming, or will just rely on it's American back-catalogue?

Sorry. Comments have been disabled on this post.
