And if you missed tonight's show...

Tough.

No more repeats, promises Grade

OK, it's not quite as clear cut as that. Michael Grade has promised to remove all repeats from BBC One and Two by 2016.

Looks shocking, doesn't it?

Well, of course - what happens if you miss an episode of your favourite show by accident - it happens to all of us.

Then you read what he said to the Radio Times. "As the number of digital channels offering repeats increases...". So, basically, he's just going to shove all the repeats off BBC One and Two, and onto Three and Four, and probably as many onto the UKTV network as possible.

This is silly. If One and Two are to be repeat free, so should Three, Four, CBBC, CBeebies and Parliament. They are no lesser BBC channels - or at least they shouldn't be in our fully digital future. What about shows like "The Good Life", repeats of which still continue to draw several million viewers on a weekly basis?

I understand his point, but sometimes you need to put your brain in gear before opening your mouth.
