Well if you too didn't see Sky News's studio (also simulcast on Five) well you didn't miss much. Rather drab and boring actually - rather grey and with the presenters sat there with lots of computer screens. Like the ITV studio, it also looked rather cramped. On the other hand, the Sky graphics "came" from the Palace of Westminster, using it as a backdrop. I say "came" cos it all looked rather computer generated to me. Perhaps I was missing something.
But when it comes to election sets, the BBC usually takes the crown and not surprisingly, they got it again this year. It's not just the size, but the people and the bustle. You can hear the buzz of people working away in the background. Some people might not like that background noise but it gives the whole thing a sense that there's lots going on and that there's hordes of people working away in the background. In contrast ITV and Sky come from very quiet studios - no bustle at all.
One little thing that Sky did do well - a shot of their gallery was available on their interactive service, complete with audio meaning you could take a look at what was going on behind the scenes. Not compulsive viewing for the whole night, but very interesting to dip in to if you wanted a variation from the wonderful Peter Snow on the other side.
