It's General Election time again in the UK, so this month's issue has a distinctly political flavour, although we've been careful to put it all in one place - namely in a TBS Election Special meta-edited by Russ J Graham.
In addition to commentary in the MediaBlog, there are several articles, from political bias in the media to a moving tribute to Gwynfor Evans - one of the few men to stand up to Margaret Thatcher and win, and a man who was prepared to die for his language and country.
The past month has also seen the passing of one of the great figures in light music and broadcasting themes, Robert Farnon. He, too, will be sorely missed and hopefully we will have more to say about him in a future issue.
In the 'main' part of the update this month we feature an exciting 2-part serial (and guess what, you get both parts in one month) on science fiction on television, coinciding nicely with what is arguably the best Doctor Who series ever.
Plenty of marks to Russell T Davies for a script and production that goes from scary 19th century undead to hilarious farting aliens in Downing Street (and some nice timely, ambivalent lines related to lying about wars).
There's some fascinating memories in this month's new material, too, of the beginnings of television in the West Country, plus a historical item on the earliest video recordings known - which go back much further than you'd expect.
