CBC is making their pitch to the Canadian Government in Ottawa for additional funding to improve regional television and local radio.
This is the problem with being funded directly by a government, any government. Direct funding of a TV station comes quite low down the list of priorities for public funds. Still, I wish them luck, and hope they can get the additional funding they seek. Canada may have only half the population that the UK has, but they deserve just a good a local and regional service from their public broadcaster, that we get from the BBC.
