Media barons in £6bn plot to capture ITV

Lord (Clive) Hollick must have realised that ITV plc would be too difficult to conquer without some form of additional assistance, hence rumours of a possible alliance with Stephen Hopkins Grabiner and - most significantly - Greg Dyke. However if such a combination were to work together and end up being successful with their takeover bid, it remains to be seen whether these three can continue to work together effectively without some form of major ego clash.

And there is also the issue of what will happen to ITV plc as a result; much depends on whether the new boss(es) can implement any desired change(s) wihout upsetting major shareholder(s), since it appears that even the might of BSkyB can have difficulty in that regard if the change(s) go against the majority opinion. It certainly represents an opportunity - share price permitting - though if the share price becomes too high, they won't have to wait too long before it drops again.
